Class wrap-up

What did you learn from using Twitter?  Think about the content that you gained from those you followed as well as what you learned about Twitter itself.

Through the use of Twitter during this class I learned that it is easier than ever to connect with educational professionals around the world.  Twitter can be a great way to activily work with and learn from educational professionals around the globe.

Who was the most interesting person or persons that you followed?  Why?  Be specific and provide examples.

The most interesting person that I followed on Twitter was a fellow teacher at my school.  I had no idea that other teacher even had twitter.  This teacher posts articles related to the education field daily and it has been a great way for me to stay current on my news.

Do you think you’ll continue to use Twitter personally, professionally and/or both after this assignment is complete?  Why or why not?

I will continue to use twitter personally and some professionally.  I will never use it with students for safety concerns but I will use it to stay connected with other professionals around the world.

Richard Byrne's "Free Technology for Teachers" Blog

http://www.freetech4teachers.com

This website is a great resource for teachers. Whenever using new technology it is so nice having a tutorial video’s that you can use. This websites provides a variety of useful tutorials. I really like how teacher friendly this website is. It provides some great lesson plan ideas of ways to incorporate different types of technology in the classroom. I could easily make a blog that would be very helpful to my students.

Animoto Welcome Video

I decided to create a video that I could use in my classroom starting next year. This video I will show to my classes on the first day of school to visually show students what we'll be covering for the year. This was my first Animoto video, but I will definitely be making more. This would be a nice way to introduce a new unit to my students and I will also have my students make their own videos at some point. The nice thing is I can just reuse these every year and change or adapt them as needed. I have seen other teachers in my building use Animoto in their rooms; mostly for student projects. Another fun, useful tool to add to my teaching.
